Join us on Tuesday, March 16 for a conversation with Deepak Kamra (BCom/78), General Partner at Canaan Partners, an early-stage, global venture capital firm with over $6 billion under management.
Deepak Kamra will provide an insider’s view of how venture capitalists (VCs) look at companies who approach them for funds to grow their businesses. His talk will be followed by a question and answer period. He will be joined by our event hosts, Dana Brown, dean of Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business, and Steven Muegge, director of Carleton’s Technology Innovation Management program.

About Deepak Kamra
Based in San Francisco, California, Deepak Kamra (BCom/78) is General Partner at Canaan Partners, a global venture capital firm with over $6 billion under management. Deepak invests in a spectrum of technology companies, with particular expertise and focus on marketplaces, aerospace and enterprise software. Deepak is a passionate advocate for immigration and its importance to innovation. He started his career in the telecom software industry, which led to a startup and a successful IPO. He has been ranked on the Forbes Midas List twice, and is a former member of the board of directors of the National Venture Capital Association. When not working with startups, Deepak plays bass in a local band. He received a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
