The Technology Innovation Management Review (TIM Review) has reached a key milestone in its quest to bridge the gap between theory and practice for researchers, technology
entrepreneurs, and innovation managers. The journal's website now receives more than 30,000 unique visitors from around the world every month.
Having recently celebrated the publication of its 100th monthly issue, the TIM Review’s popular archive hosts more than 500 articles that provide research-based solutions to practical, real-world problems in emerging
domains.
A key factor in the journal's success, according to Chris McPhee, the journal's Editor-in-Chief, has been the diversity of its authors and readers, both in terms of their roles in academia or industry and their geographical
representation. "We started as a Canadian publication with a global view," says McPhee, "and now, about a third of our readers come from the Americas, another third come from Asia, and about a quarter come from Europe – our growth in readership has mirrored the increasing geographic diversity of our authors and readers."
The peer-reviewed, open access journal is published in association with Carleton University’s Technology Innovation Management (TIM) program in Ottawa, Canada. The TIM Program includes a Master of Applied Science, a Master of Engineering and a Master of Entrepreneurship. Students and staff in the TIM Program come from approximately 30 different countries, and provide a unique insight into entrepreneurship and other areas of research. Having a strong relationship between the TIM Program and the TIM Review is beneficial to both readers and contributors. Students are given an opportunity to participate in and learn from peer-reviewed research which is conducted and published within a few short months, and new contributors are always being added to the network as the strength of international connections continues to grow. The TIM program is led by Dr. Tony Bailetti, who has been involved with the TIM Review since its inception.
Dr. Bailetti says, “The TIM Review is a global asset that acts as a source of differentiation for the Ottawa region because it benefits technology entrepreneurs worldwide.”
Since its launch in 2007, the Technology Innovation Management Review (TIM Review) has offered readers quality and insightful content regarding issues and emerging trends relevant to launching and growing
technology businesses. The peer-reviewed, open access journal focuses on the theories, strategies, and tools that help small and large technology companies succeed.
In addition to the journal's 30,000 monthly unique visitors, the journal's audience includes readers of its sevenbook series of eBooks featuring "The Best of TIM Review." Through both outlets, the journal's growing and diverse community of innovation professionals from industry and academia use the journal to explore new ideas and solve practical problems that technology companies are facing today
